School Council

What is the purpose of the School Council?

The school council is a group of pupils who are elected

to represent the views of all children to improve the

school. Each academic year, voting takes place for the

children who have been campaigning to be elected for

the School Council. The school council is over-seen by

Mrs Charlotte Davies but is led by the children

themselves.

There will be meetings held every half term and the

council will also be expected to lead a school assembly

after this meeting to share their plans with the rest of

the school.

What do the School Council do at Ysgol Caer Drewyn?

• A school council meets to discuss and sort out prob-

lems and ideas. These may include school lunches, be-

haviour or ideas for fundraising events.

• Members of the school council will be responsible for

carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as

planning charity events and putting forward views of

other children in the school.
